In the same year of graduating, in 2021, I visited Uganda to conduct my thesis work and stayed for five months. “Hi, my name is Ingrid and I’m an MSc student in the Agroecology program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). I was in Uganda for a duration of 4 months to conduct fieldwork for my thesis on young coffee farmers’ perceptions of diversifying their production and livelihood from environmental and socio-economic perspectives. Looking back on my time in Uganda I’m instantly filled with joy and happiness. It’s an experience that I will always treasure in my heart. I learnt so much from all the farmers I met and was welcomed with open arms. Working with the Mara team has also been a great pleasure, and I’m grateful for all the support I’ve gotten from them. It’s admirable how much passion Boby and the team put into the business. Uganda is a beautiful country, and I can’t wait to visit again!
